On September 14th Amy Winehouse would have celebrated her 33rd birthday, but unfortunately she passed away 5 years ago. The talented singer was honored and remembered on this day by many other artists, including Adele.
The “Hello” dedicated a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” to Amy during her concert in Boston. Here’s what she told the crowd:
“I used to see her on TV or magazine shoots with a pink electric guitar and I used to think she was the coolest motherf**ker on the face of the Earth,” Adele said. “Because of her, I picked up a guitar and because of her, I wrote my own songs. The songs I got signed on were the songs that I wrote completely on my own – if it wasn’t for her, that wouldn’t have happened. I owe 90 percent of my career to [Winehouse].”
Adele also posted a birthday message on her Instagram.
