Everybody knows Angelina Jolie’s iconic character Lara Croft in “Tomb Raider”,
but what we don’t know is that the actress had to agree to random drug testing
in order to get the part.
According to a new book published by former Paramount Pictures CEO Sherry
Lasing, the film studio was worried at the time whether they should cast
Angelina for the role or not, considering at the time she was rumored to take
“Funnily enough, that was one of my selling points: This trouble and dangerous
aspect in her reputation actually helped the character,” the director of the
movie, Simon West, told in the book.
Jolie apparently agreed to undergo the random drug tests, not only urine tests
but also blood tests. Obviously she passed them all, because she got the part
and turned Lara Croft into a memorable character.
