Beyonce was set to headline Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on the second weekend of the festival, April 15 and 22 and her fans couldn’t be more excited about the news.
When the news that Beyonce was pregnant was announced, rumor had it she might be pulling out of performing and now it seems like the rumors were true.
The news that Beyonce will not performing at Coachella this year was announced on the festival’s Facebook account. They stated that the “Drunk in Love” singer had to take this decision because her doctors have advised her to not keep a busy schedule.
However it’s not all bad news, because the festival announced that Beyonce will be returning next year on 2018 Coachella.
However Beyonce fans have been pretty upset following the news that she won’t be performing anymore, especially the ones who had already bought tickets. Some wrote on Twitter that at least they hope someone as good as the singer is booked to take her place.
Rumor has it will be Daft Punk, but we will have to wait and see.
The news that the Sorry singer would be pulling out of Coachella also impacted the ticket sales of the music festival. According to Billboard, the ticket sales have dropped 12% compared to last week, when Beyonce was still confirmed as a performer.
Also, secondary ticket markets have also reacted to the news. The price of the tickets of the weekend that Beyonce was supposed to perform at, have fallen from an average price of $856 to $834, a 3% fall (according to Billboard).
The ‘Lemonade’ singer started this year off in the best way possible, she announced to the world that she’s pregnant with twins and also won two awards at the Grammys a couple of weeks ago.
The fact that she need to take a break is totally acceptable and we can’t wait to see her comeback.
