Blake Lively was one of the many celebrities who joined the Women’s March movement.
The 29 year old actress marched the streets of New York City on Saturday (January 21 st ), and decided to explain to her Instagram followers why she decided to join the cause.
“I marched for my daughters, for my friends, for strangers, for myself, for Phoebe here in this picture who I met as she motivated everyone she came across,” Blake captioned the picture below.
I marched for my daughters, for my friends, for strangers, for myself, for Phoebe here in this picture who I met as she motivated everyone she came across. My march wasn't driven by hate. It was rooted in a very simple fact– we are all equal. I believe everyone can agree on that. Thank you to everyone who marched all over the world. I felt so hopeful and deeply grateful. #whyimarch
She later continued to explain that her march wasn’t driven by hate, but it was rooted in her beliefs in being equal. Lively closed her message by thanking everyone who marched and telling she felt “hopeful” and “deeply grateful”.
Lively was talking about the two daughters she has with actor Ryan Reynolds, a one year old and a 3 months old.
