An unfortunate incident sent the host Ellen DeGeneres to the hospital a couple of
The 59 year old host revealed to news to her audience on The Ellen Show on
Tuesday, March 21. DeGeneres told that she dislocated her finger recently after
a dinner party.
“So, you know how in gymnastics when you do a one-handed cartwheel and you
have to spread the weight evenly between all your fingers? Well, I had two
glasses of wine and fell into a door,” Ellen joked with the audience.
“The dogs were so excited to see us and I caught the lip of the top step. I was a
foot away from the door and I fell into the door and it did something to my
finger, I knew something was wrong”, she continued.
Ellen also showed a picture for the finger to the audience, although she warned
them not to look at it. “If you’re squeamish, don’t look at it. I’m sorry,” she

DeGeneres then thanked the UCLA for being so wonderful. She didn’t forget to
mention all the great people who work there and took care of her, especially
Tammy. “…Tammy, thank you so much. Tammy was my nurse who was taking
care of me,” Ellen shared with her studio audience.
She also shared another funny moment. “I was in incredible pain”, Ellen told and
Tammy (the nurse) asked her if she wanted a shot. Ellen then told her no
because she already had two glasses of wine.
