An indie artist, who claims that her vocals were sampled as the hook for Justin Bieber’s hit song “Sorry,” is now taking legal action against the young singer. Casey Dienel, who goes by the stage name White Hinderland, is suing Justin for allegedly stealing the beginning rift used in “Sorry” from her song “Ring the Bell.” In the filed documents, Casey claims that she reached out to Bieber after she originally heard the song, however she was ignored. She is now taking matters to court and requesting that Justin compensate her for the use of the rift. Unfortunately for Justin, Casey probably does think it’s “too late to say sorry now.”
Therefore, if she prevails in the court case, Justin will likely have to fork over a notable amount of money to correct his infringement (especially considering the success Justin had with the song).
