Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she is in a relationship with her backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka. The pop star officially confirmed she’s dating the 33 year old dancer by referring to him as her “boyfriend” in a new interview.
Carey told that in the past, she didn’t usually talk about her personal life and it actually worked back in the days to keep it private. That being said, she still doesn’t feel comfortable talking about it in interviews and public appearances.
“Can we just keep that private between us? Me and my boyfriend don’t want to do that.” – The singer joked.
Carey and Tanaka’s romance began last year, shortly after she and ex-fiancé James Packer ended their engagement in October.
On Carey’s reality show “Mariah’s World”, it’s also been shown that the two are very close, though she’d never publicly confirmed that she and Tanaka were actually dating.
Her relationship with Tanaka had apparently bothered Packer while he was still engaged to Carey, and he reportedly even had a verbal confrontation with the dancer at one of the singer”s shows last year.
On Valentine’s Day, the pop singer shared a photo of herself and her shirtless boyfriend sipping champagne in the hot tub together.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!!” she captioned the post on Tuesday, February 14, alongside a kiss face and heart emojis.
