Pepsi’s new commercial from their new campaign “Live For Now” featuring model
Kendall Jenner was off to a great start, but things have turned out very
differently.

Hours after being released, the commercial received very bad criticism and
backlash from the general public. People have commented that they don’t like
the fact that when Kendall joins the protest and gives the police Pepsi, she
suddenly achieves peace, when in reality things are not like that at all. Especially
when considering the latest protests that have happened in the United States
and the fact that the protesters have been confronting the police.

Facing the backlash, Pepsi has decided that the best to do is pulling the
commercial. After announcing they would be scrapping the spot, they also told
that they were trying to give a global message of “unity, peace and
understanding”.

“Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize,” the company told in their
statement. They announced that they did not intend to make light of any serious
issue, telling that they “are pulling the content and halting any further rollout”.

Pepsi also didn’t forget to apologize to Kendall Jenner, for “putting her in this
position”. The 21 year old model has also been made of fun on social media and
has received a lot of backlash from the public.

"Ye, asap pls. They're sprayin me."

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star hasn’t said anything about this case
yet, but a source close to the Kardashian-Jenner family told Entertainment
Tonight that Kendall is “devastated” by the backlash she has received.

The source continued that this is Kendall’s first controversial campaign and
although she had nothing to do with production or the message of the campaign,
people will blame her because she’s the face of it.

However they’re sure this will not impact her career in a negative way in the
long term.
