Selena Gomez has made a donation to the University of Southern California’s
Keck School of Medicine to support research on lupus.
According to People Magazine, the donation is called The Selena Gomez Fund for
Lupus Research and will be used for researching and treating the complications
from the disease.
“I continue to be optimistic about the progress being made in lupus research and
am proud to support the promising work at Keck School of Medicine. I am
hopeful for the millions of us around the world that may benefit from this”, the
24 year old singer told in a recent statement following her donation.
Representatives of the Keck School of Medicine told that they’re pleased to
partner with Selena and the money she donated will help on a pilot research
Apparently this was only the first of many donations on lupus research that
Selena will make. The singer told she’s happy that millions of people around the
world will benefit from this.
Selena revealed back in 2015 that she hap lupus and has been very open to talk
about it. In 2016 she had to cancel many dates from her Revival tour and even
took a break from her music career in order to focus on her health.
She’s now back in the spotlight and new music is expected from her this year.
