During a recent interview for The Guardian, The Weeknd has opened about using drugs while recording his old music.
“When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy. Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time.”- The “Starboy” singer told.
Later the singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, revealed that he doesn’t do that anymore, but he does sometime use drugs while recording music (even with his recent album). He told he does drugs when he has the “writer’s block” and can’t write sober.
Meanwhile, Abel is reaching major success with his new album “Starboy”. The RnB singer even broke the record for most number of streams on a day on Spotify, the largest streaming platform.
